Well, it looks like the balloon never made it across the Atlantic. It looked pretty solid at the end of the first evening in Connecticut, but it must have got caught up in a storm out in the Atlantic Ocean.

We’ve got a couple of ideas for our next flight, probably a bigger balloon and maybe use hydrogen instead of helium for the lifting gas (a higher float would give the balloon a better chance of avoiding inclement weather). We might also try to incorporate some WSPR technology (more about that later, but, in a nutshell it would allow us to gather more information from longer distances away from land-based APRS stations).
